Scheduled visits

Before each visit
- Book ahead, allow 2–3 hoursAll visits are by appointment. Eye drops take time to work.
- Don’t drive backVision stays blurry for 4–6 hours. Come with a family member.
- Eat and take your medicinesTake your diabetes medicines as usual; don’t skip meals.
- Bring your reportsPast eye reports, latest HbA1c or sugar reports, and your medicines list.
- Bring your glassesAnd your contact lens case, if you wear lenses.
- Carry sunglassesYour eyes will be sensitive to light after the drops.
Retina Care Plan: common questions
Is the Retina Care Plan unlimited?
No. It includes up to 12 scheduled visits in the plan year. Your specialist sets the schedule with you at your first visit. Emergency visits are extra and don’t count towards the 12.
Are eye injections included in the price?
No. Injections and laser are charged separately, at fixed prices agreed when you enrol. Those prices stay the same for your whole plan year, so there are no surprises on the bill.
Do I have to take treatment if I join?
No. Treatment is given only if your specialist advises it.
What if I miss a scheduled visit?
A missed visit can be rebooked once within the year.
Does the plan cover cataract or other eye conditions?
No. The Retina Care Plan covers the retina and macula only.
